Inspired Lending partners with Knowledge Bank

Inspired Lending has added its lending criteria to Knowledge Bank, giving brokers access to it’s broader proposition when assessing cases.

“We want Inspired Lending to be considered whenever a broker has a bridging or refurbishment case that fits our appetite.” said Owen Bentley, sales director at Inspired Lending.

“The criteria are there to help brokers identify the cases we could support, but they are not a substitute for picking up the phone. There will always be transactions where one detail changes how we view the deal, so we still want brokers to speak to us and give us the chance to understand what they are trying to achieve.”

Inspired Lending reduces rates to 0.75% pm

Inspired Lending has reduced it’s rates across its entire product range following increased funding support from the Pears family, with new pricing available immediately.

First-charge bridging finance is now available from 0.75% per month. Rates for second-charge bridging, heavy refurbishment, semi-commercial and commercial lending now start from 0.85% per month.

“These reductions put us firmly in the mix for a broader range of cases.” said Gavin Diamond, CEO at Inspired Lending. “Crucially, we have achieved that without changing the way we lend. For brokers, it means stronger pricing now sits alongside the pragmatic underwriting and deal structure they already know us for.”

Building Inspired Lending from scratch

Our CEO, Gavin Diamond, was featured in The Big Interview in Mortgage Introducer on building Inspired Lending from scratch.

The interview includes his background and experience, his thoughts on why private funding is a gamechanger and pricing for risk in a competitive market.

‘You want to be lending on the right transactions to the right borrowers with the right security, with the right exit strategy and earning the right margin for the risk that you’re taking.’

‘Make bridging boring again’

‘The best deals rarely become stories.’ says Gavin Diamond, CEO at Inspired Lending, in his bridging opinion piece in Specialist Lending Solutions.

‘When people are borrowing hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of pounds, they are not looking for excitement. In my experience, the best bridging cases are usually the ones people rarely talk about afterwards.’

‘Borrowers complete their purchase or refinance, move on to the next stage of their plans and rarely give the loan another thought. When that happens, the bridge becomes entirely forgettable. In my book, that is a job well done.’

Experience matters more when deals become more specialist

‘The first lending decision is rarely the one that defines a loan.’ says Gavin Diamond, CEO at Inspired Lending, in his opinion piece in the August 2026 edition of Bridging & Commercial magazine.

‘Projects can take a major turn for the unexpected. Once the money is out the door, circumstances change, new information comes to light, and things develop ways nobody could’ve predicted at the outset.’

‘Good specialist lending is about continuing to make the sensible decisions throughout the life of a loan because more often than not, they determine a successful exit for both the borrower and lender.’

‘Trust is the new speed in bridging’

“The real test isn’t where challenges appear. It’s how a lender behaves once they do.” says Gavin Diamond, CEO at Inspired Lending, in his opinion piece in The Intermediary magazine.

“Familiarity removes unnecessary friction. Conversations become more straightforward, expectations are clearer and transactions progress more efficiently.”

“Reputation is rarely built on the day a loan completes; it’s built through dozens of decisions made consistently over time.”

‘The real test of a lender starts after drawdown’

“A completed loan isn’t the measure of success – a successful exit is.” says Gavin Diamond, CEO at Inspired Lending, in his blog with Financial Reporter.

“I’ve always believed a lender earns its reputation after drawdown rather than before it. Getting a deal over the line takes expertise, but seeing it through to successful redemption takes something a little bit more.”

“Completion tells you the funding was delivered. It doesn’t tell you whether the project did. That answer only comes later, once the borrower reaches the exit they originally set out to achieve.”

‘Pricing for risk versus chasing volume’

“There’s a difference between wanting to write business and wanting to write the right business.” says Gavin Diamond, CEO at Inspired Lending, in his blog with Specialist Lending Solutions.

“The issue isn’t a lack of money. There’s plenty of liquidity out there. The issue is a shortage of good, deliverable deals. And when a decent deal does come along, there are often a lot of lenders trying very hard to win it.”

“There is a point where pricing stops being about risk and starts being about volume, and that’s a very different thing.”

Inspired Lending joins FIBA

Inspired Lending has joined the Financial Intermediary & Broker Association (FIBA) to strengthen its broker engagement.

Gavin Diamond, CEO of Inspired Lending, said: “What FIBA does particularly well is bring together professionals who understand those realities. It creates an environment where lenders and brokers can have honest conversations about what’s working, what’s changing and where improvements can be made.”

‘Looking under the bonnet again’

“There’s a difference between growth that is sustainable and growth that simply appears impressive while conditions remain favourable” says Gavin Diamond, CEO at Inspired Lending, in his blog with Financial Reporter.

“Sustainable lending businesses are not built overnight, and rapid growth should probably create as many questions as it does headlines, particularly in a challenging market.”

“Staying engaged throughout the life cycle of a deal is just as important as getting comfortable at the outset, because circumstances change during the term of a loan and the right outcome is not usually achieved by simply sitting back and hoping for the best.”
